Terence Smyth

tsmyth@seaport.comSeaport's management consulting practice is led by Terence Smyth, P.Eng., CMC, the founder of Seaport Consultants Canada Inc. Mr. Smyth is a maritime economist and management consultant with over 25 years of experience in the evaluation of port, other transport and resource projects. He has managed and conducted feasibility studies of ocean transportation, shipping terminals, railways, coal and industrial mineral mines, pulp and paper mills, manufacturing plants, and computer system installations.
His experience includes market surveys for industrial commodities, development of models for economic and financial analyses, and reviews of industrial technology. He has also provided litigation support in the port sector as an expert witness. Mr. Smyth has been responsible for projects in North America, South-East Asia, the Middle East, Latin America the Caribbean and Africa. He has conducted many projects funded by the international development banks. Mr. Smyth holds degrees from the University of British Columbia and Stanford University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, and a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC), the Association of Professional Economists of B.C., the Canadian Association for Business Economics, the Vancouver Board of Trade and the International Association of Maritime Economists.
