Develop Layout and Design
Paper, Cape Town South Africa, 2007 – 2008
|
Cape Town has decided to transform their existing indirect SC operation into a RTG or Cantilever-RMG operation with a volume capacity of 3 to 4 times the current SC operation. In this connection, Seaport Innovations was engaged to develop, developed in collaboration with Transnet, an optimum terminal layout and to develop detailed design paper/instructions. The work included developing various layout alternatives for the RTG and Cantilever-RMG operation, developing a detailed transition (phasing) plan, development of detailed layout with pavement markings, and a comprehensive design paper with clear design instructions.
