Seaport Consultants Canada Inc. reviewed the Nordic and Baltic container port market and developed forecasts of traffic growth for the region. Seaport also evaluated the competitiveness of Gothenburg as a transshipment port with the major European hub ports.

Seaport's work included:

• Compilation of container port traffic data for Nordic and Baltic ports and economic data on the region

• Assembly of background date on world and European container trade

• Review of container shipping services to Nordic and Baltic ports, and to European transshipment ports

• Development of traffic forecast model and preparation of a forecast of container traffic in the Nordic and Baltic ports

• Evaluation of competitiveness of Gothenburg as a regional transshipment port
